Terms of Service

What you are buying

Curacast is software you install and run on your own hardware. You are buying a licence to run it, not a hosted service and not the software itself. We do not host your channels, store your media, or run anything on your behalf beyond a small licensing service.

What a licence covers

• One installation. If you move to new hardware, release the licence from Settings and activate it on the new machine.
• Unlimited channels while the subscription is active.
• All updates released while you are subscribed.

Curacast is free to use for 14 days on up to 2 channels without a licence.

What happens if a licence ends

Nothing you made is deleted. Your channels, settings and schedules stay on your machine exactly as they were, and activating a licence restores full use immediately.

What stops is playback and the ability to add channels. A programme already playing is never cut off part-way through. If a renewal simply fails or your server cannot reach us for a while, Curacast keeps working for roughly a month before anything changes, so a temporary problem does not interrupt your television.

Payment and refunds

Payments are handled by Link, a Stripe company, which acts as the merchant of record and is the seller on your receipt. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from app.link.com; cancelling stops future renewals and is not retroactive.

If Curacast is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you. You do not need to justify it.

Fourteen days rather than longer because you can already evaluate Curacast properly before paying anything: the free trial runs on your own hardware, against your own library, for two weeks. The usual reason for a long refund window — that you could not try it first — does not apply here.

What you may not do

• Redistribute, resell or sublicense the software.
• Share one licence across multiple installations.
• Work around the licensing to obtain use you have not paid for.
• Use the Curacast name or branding as your own.

Curacast plays media you already have. You are responsible for having the right to play it. Nothing here grants you rights to any content.

No warranty, and limits on liability

Curacast is provided as-is. We work hard on it and test it seriously, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or fault-free on hardware and libraries we have never seen. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous 12 months.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms materially, we will say so on this page and date it. Continuing to use Curacast after that means you accept the change.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
